Men's necklace chains typically range from 45–60cm (18–24 inches). A 45–50cm chain sits at or just below the collarbone and works well worn visibly with an open collar; a 55–60cm chain sits mid-chest and is better suited to layering under a shirt or with a crew neck. If you're unsure, a 55cm chain is the most versatile length for most builds and can be worn both visibly and tucked in. Pendant size scales with chain length — a larger pendant pairs best with a longer chain for proportional balance.
